The thriller Training Day, directed by Antoine Fuqua, with Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke, Eva Mendes and Scott Glenn, will air on Canale 20 on 21.05.

Jake Hoyt is a young Los Angeles Police recruit who is flanked by veteran Alonzo Harris on his first day of service. The latter is responsible for assessing whether the young person is suitable or not for joining the anti-drug team. Between the two things are not too smooth, being two personalities at the antipodes: Hoyt is used to following the rules to the letter, Harris does his own thing and likes to work on the street.

Between arrests and searches, the day passes fairly quietly, while it seems clear that Hoyt is not comfortable with someone like Harris, who continually tests him and pushes him to overcome the limit. Gradually the young man also comes to find out that Harris is having money problems and is planning an illicit plan to meet the debt.

Written by David Ayer (Suicide Squad), directed by Antoine Fuqua, Training Day was presented out of competition at the 58th edition of the Venice International Film Festival. Protagonists of the story, Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke are the real added value of the project. It is no coincidence that Washington will be awarded the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 2002, while Hawke receives the nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
