When Sylvester Stallone was first announced as Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, most people thought his character would be set to play a leading role in the series in the future. After all, you're not launching one of the most instantly recognizable actors on the planet into a blockbuster comic book suite, just to give them a few disposable scenes and do away with it.

We thought we got our answer in one of Vol 2.'s many post-credit scenes where Stallone appeared alongside a team based on the original incarnation of the Guardians comic with Martinex by Michael Rosenbaum, Charlie-27 by Ving Rhames, Aleta Ogord by Michelle Yeoh and Mainframe by Miley Cyrus. Putting together such a set of famous faces to share the screen together for a few seconds was a clear indication that something bigger was in the works, maybe even a big-screen spin-off for the Stallone team.

However, we have now heard from our sources - the same people who told us that the She-Hulk and Mrs. Marvel shows are coming to Disney + - that if Stallone and his Ravagers will actually play a role in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, they would also have decided to feature their own Disney Plus series that will take place after the events of the James Gunn sequel.

According to our sources, the project is only in the early stages of development at the moment, but the plot will apparently focus on the team trying to save an as yet unknown planet from being taken over by a Kree invasion, with Rosenbaum, Rhames, Yeoh and Cyrus all wanted to resume their roles. Sure, an action-packed science fiction show with a starry cast seems like an incredibly expensive proposition, but the next MCU series should already be more expensive than a penny, and a Guardians of the Galaxy spin-off who to see Sylvester Stallone playing his first starring role on the small screen over 50 years in his career is undoubtedly an extremely exciting proposition.
